Technical readiness resource

Why is my website not showing up in AI answers?

Separate technical access problems from answer selection. Check what your site serves before drawing conclusions about brand visibility.

There is no single setting that makes an AI service mention your business. Start with the page you want it to use: can it be opened, does it contain the answer, and is the information clear? A technical scan can help with access and page structure, but it cannot tell you why a particular answer omitted your site.

Start with a specific page and question

Choose a page that directly answers the question you care about. A homepage may describe your business without explaining the detailed topic. Read the page as a new visitor: does it contain the answer, supporting details, and a clear way to learn more? Avoid treating a single answer-engine response as a stable measure of your whole website.

Check the technical evidence

Inspect the response status, crawler rules, initial text, and links to the page. Confirm the sitemap includes the intended URL. If the response is a login screen or empty app shell, fix that access or delivery problem before trying to improve the wording.

  1. Use the free robots checker for the target page.
  2. Run a readiness audit and inspect visible-content findings.
  3. Verify structured data matches the page.
  4. Rescan after changing the website.

Keep measurements separate

SiteReadyFor.SI gives on-demand technical findings and suggested fixes. It does not query live ChatGPT or Perplexity answers, track competitor mentions, or measure share of voice. Use a separate visibility workflow when you need that evidence. For Google’s AI features, its documentation continues to emphasize established search practices.
